Preppy Pick - Salmon Cove Premier Shirt

Today's Preppy Pick is the premier polo shirt from Salmon Cove.

I heard about these shirts when fellow blogger Tod mentioned them over on his site. I tracked down Salmon Cove's webpage and bought myself a shirt.

Best. Polo. Ever.

Seriously.

I chose the Newport colour (a nice shade of baby blue). But here's the kicker - the collar is designed to stay popped. It's got a contrasting line of orange fabric sewn into the inside of the collar that keeps it at attention 24/7. See:This is a key design feature for those who share my collar up sensibility.

Even little Monty approved:Another fun feature is that the logo isn't in the traditional spot on the chest like Lacoste or Ralph Lauren. The little orange salmon peeks out from the side of the collar like so:And the shirts are cut slim with just the slightest bit of stretch so you don't look like you're wearing a boxy boys tee:The website doesn't have a sizing chart, but apparently medium is just right for 5'10'' with an athletic build.

Two professional hockey players, Ryan and Ben, started Salmon Cove earlier this summer. There are a few photos of them on their website, and they definitely wear those polos well.

The guys sold out of their first run in two months, and plan to add all kinds of new stuff (track jackets, t-shirts, tank tops, etc) to their line next spring.

Until then, I'm going back for more polos...
